On 9 Sept., the Department of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) issued a notice on the import information of bulk agricultural products (sugar). According to the notice, the actual amount of out-of-quota sugar arrived at the ports was 182,300.0 tonnes in Aug. and the arrival of 3,500.0 tonnes is expected in Sept.

By the end of Aug., 9.02 million tonnes of sugar have been sold in China in the crushing season of 2019/2020, with a sales-to-production ratio of 86.6%; Shengtong Sugar and Baihuisheng Sugar will start sugar crushing around 20 Sept., which will mark the beginning of the 2020/2021 crushing season in Inner Mongolia.
