GuangzhouChina Jan. 3, 2011 - Announced on Dec. 9, 2010, DuPont is evaluating a significant expansion of an existing titanium dioxide site to meet the growing demand during the 2010 Investor Day.

New Johnsonville TN will probably be the choice since the other plants with issues surrounding them that won't lead to their expansion, predicted by one expert within TiO2 industry in Ohio Area.

The soaring sales volume and rising prices of TiO2 in 2010 boosts TiO2 multinationals' profitability, which drives them to expand TiO2 capacity. Tiwest Joint Venture's expansion will be completed soon and the other TiO2 multinationals including DuPont, Huntsman and Kronos are probably to expand their capacity in 2011.

Founded in 1802, DuPont has been working with creating sustainable solutions, which is essential to a better, safer, healthier life for people everywhere.  As for TiO2 segment, DuPont operates five plants distributed in the US, Mexico and Taiwan, China, with the total capacity of 1.17 million tonnes per year. The New Johnsonville TN in the US is its largest plant with capacity of 400,000t/a.
