Accordingly, the domestic social steel inventories in Chinese surveyed cities had continued its downward trend in last week with the week-over-week decrease of 0.246 million tons from prior week to 16.532 million tons, indicating that the domestic steel inventories have dropped for eleven consecutive weeks.

Concretely, the stockpiles for rebar were 7.368 million metric tons in the domestic steel market, down 145 thousand tons from prior week. Meanwhile, the inventories for HRC and wire rod had decreased by 70 and 46 thousand tons respectively compared to previous month. However, the stocks for CRC and medium plate had increased by 14 and 1 thousand tons from prior week.

Although the domestic steel inventories have continued inching down step by step, both of mills and traders are still under pressure on stocks due to sluggish procurement orders from final customers. In this context, we thought that the domestic steel inventorie may stabilize gradually in the short run.
