Guangxi Petrochemical 10Mt/a refining plant becomes operational

On September 8, PetroChina Guangxi Petrochemical's 10 Mt/a refining plant became operational in Qinzhou.

Construction of Guangxi Petrochemical's 10Mt/a refining plant was started in November 2007, with a total investment of RMB 15.1 billion. The plant has ten production units, including a 10Mt/a atmospheric-vacuum distillation unit, a 3.5Mt/a heavy oil catalystic cracking unit, a 2.2Mt/a continuous catalystic reforming unit and a 2.2Mt/a wax oil hydrocracking unit, as well as relevant public utilities such as oil-tank farm, dock and railway special line.

After the plant being operational, Guangxi Petrochemical is capable of providing 8.3 million tons of fuels including gasoline, diesel, aviation kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas, and 900,000 tons of petrochemicals such as polypropylene, aromatic hydrocarbon, benzene, methylbenzene and mixed xylenes every year to southwest China.

Guangxi PetroChemical employs advanced and eco-friendly full hydrogenation technological process to produce Euro Ⅲ standard products, and 70% of which meeting Euro IV standard. A three-level water contamination control system has been established to eliminate environmental risks. The wastewater discharge standard was upgraded to the nation's ClassⅠand 70% of the wastewater can be recycled.
