Egg & pork prices continue rising,
trade volumes of meat, egg & vegetables increase
According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 34th week of 2014 (August 18-24, 2014) is 209.45 (year 2000=100), up by 1.60 points over the previous week. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 212.19, up by 1.90 points over the previous week. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 689,700 tons, up by 3.2% compared to the previous week.

Note:
1. The egg price rose for nine consecutive weeks, 2 percentage points higher than that of the previous week, and 31.8% higherthan that of the same period last year.
2. The pork price rose for eight consecutive weeks, and 8.1% lowerthan that of the same period last year.
3. The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.
4. 17 of the 28 vegetable items witnessed price increase, 1 item remained the same and the other 10 items saw price drop.
5. The average price of vegetables was 2.2% lowerthan that of the same period last year.
