Pork &vegetable prices continue rising
According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 35th week of 2014 (August 25-31, 2014) is 210.15 (year 2000=100), up by 0.70 point over the previous week. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 212.90, up by 0.71 point over the previous week. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 687,700 tons, down by 0.3% compared to the previous week.

1. The pork price rose for nine consecutive weeks, 8.1% lowerthan that of the same period last year.
2. The egg price rose for ten consecutive weeks, 27.9% higherthan that of the same period last year.
3. The growth rate was 1.9 percentage points lower than that of the previous week.
4. The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.
5. 19 of the 28 vegetable items witnessed price increase and the other 9 items saw price drop.
6. The average price of vegetables was 2.2% lowerthan that of the same period last year. The price rose for five consecutive weeks, up by a total of 7 percentage points.
7. Rose by over 5%.
8. The average price of fruits was 14.5% higherthan that of the same period last year.
9. Change of the prices was slight.
