Selected non-staple food prices –22nd week of 2014

　

Egg price falls slightly, vegetable prices continue dropping

 

According to MOA's Agri-product Wholesale Market Information Network, the Nationwide Agri-product Wholesale Price Index for the 22^nd week of 2014 (May 26-June 1, 2014) is 201.19 (year 2000=100), down by 1.47 points over the previous week. The Nationwide Non-staple Food Wholesale Price Index is 202.31, down by 1.82 points. The trade volume of 60 items in 50 wholesale markets under intensive monitoring is 670,600 tons, down by 0.5% compared to the previous week.

1.　　  The price of egg was 20.9% higherthan that of the same period last year.

2.　　  The price of pork was 2.9% lower than that of the same period last year.

3.　　  The total trade volume in 50 major wholesale markets under intensive monitoring of MOA.

4.　　  22 of the 28 vegetable items witnessed price drop and the other 6 items saw price increase compared to those of the previous week.

5.　　  The vegetable prices have dropped for 16 consecutive weeks, and the average was 2.6% higher than that of the same period last year.

8.　　  Change of prices was within 5%.

9.　　  Most of the 7 fruit items witnessed slight price increase.
