In 2011, the global crop protection products and demand for seeds will continue to grow, but the increase will be limited by product prices.
Jim Loar, senior vice-president of sales and marketing of Wilbur-Ellis Company said, global cotton planting area will increase by more than 10%; soybean acreage will increase by 7% to 8%; corn area will increase by 3% to 4% in 2011. Global crop protection products and seed market will witness recovery. Some crop protection and seed companies, including Valent, Monsanto, FMC and Makhteshim Agan have sales arrangements in advance. Loar pointed out that global crop protection and seed sales would increase in 2011, but the prices of seed and glyphosate are not likely to regain the level of 2010.
