Fatima Fertiliser's H1 2012 profit up
As compared to after tax loss of PKR152.716 million (US$1.6 million) recorded in 2011, Pakistan's Fatima Fertiliser Company Limited has posted PKR2,593.766 million (US$27,000) as profit after tax in the half year period ended June 30, 2012.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on August 27, 2012 at Copenhagen, Denmark declared that the company's earnings per share stood at PKR1.28 (US$0.01) in the period under review against per share loss of PKR0.08 (US$.001) in the same period last year.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company's sales stood at PKR12.608 billion (US$133 million) in the first half of 2012 while cost of sales at PKR4.428 billion (US$47 million).
The company's profit before taxation stood at PKR3,991.009 million (US$42,000) in the first half of 2012 against before tax loss of PR69.449 million (US$734,000) in the same period last year.
On quarterly basis, the company posted PKR2,156.153 million (US$23,000) as profit after tax translating earning per share of PKR1.05 (US$0.01) in the quarter ended June 30, 2012 as compared to after tax loss of PKR74.439 million (US$787,000) with per share loss of PKR0.04 (US$0.0004) in the same quarter in 2011.
