Noble Group opens oilseed processing plant in Argentina
Global supply chain group Noble has started a new Oilseed Processing Complex in Argentina, its first in a South American country.
The complex has a loading capacity of five million tonnes a year and a crushing capacity of three million tonnes of soy per year. The beans are processed into high protein soymeals, pellets and soyoil for export.
The group expects the new plant to enhance operating margins and increase supply efficiency to Noble's global customer base.
Meanwhile, Argentina is expecting a record soy crop of 55 million tonnes this year, with 11 million tonnes of that likely to be processed into 2.2 million tonnes of soyoil for shipment to China, according to Argentina's Agriculture Ministry.
Argentina is the world's lowest cost soy producer and largest soymeal and oil exporter.
