A proposed A$1.6 billion (US$1.26 billion) takeover by Canadian-based Viterra Inc. (VT.T) of Australia's ABB Grain Ltd. (ABB.AU) could clear the way for the merged company to buy farm services concern Elders Ltd. (ELD.AU), according to analysts, the Australian Financial Review newspaper reported Saturday (July 4).
