Cargill to build new feed mill in in Arizona
Cargill is moving ahead on constructing a new 120,000-tonne per year manufacturing plant in Casa Grande, Arizonathat will produce feed for dairy, beef, farm-store, birdseed and show-animal customers.
In late 2006, Cargill acquired Eagle Milling's Casa Grande-based feed mill, pet and animal wholesale products business wherein the conglomerate committed to constructing a new mill. Construction of the new mill began this past fall and feed production scheduled to begin in early 2010.
According to Russell Riecken, regional general manager for Cargill Animal Nutrition's Pacific Southwest business, the buyout has proven beneficial for the region's customers, with Cargill's nutritional technology and management systems from Eagle Milling's strong customer focus and market presence.
Riecken said the new feedmill targets to serve the markets of Arizona, Southern California and western New Mexico.
