Indonesia, Netherlands collaborate to improve seafood production
With an aim to ensure quality and safety of fish products for Indonesian consumers, Indonesiaand The Netherlands will work on projects of €4.5 million (US$6.2 million) worth, reports World Fishing & Aquaculture.
The partnership, announced at the Global Ocean Actions Summit, aims to improve fishavailability for the Indonesian domestic market, and possibly exports.
"Far too much fish gets wasted worldwide due to lack of knowledge of storage and cooling techniques," Sharon Dijksma, The Netherlands minister of agriculture reportedly said.
The projects will run until the end of 2016 in the locations on Kalimantan, Sumatra, Java and Ambon.
