Cuba and Venezuela to embark on aquaculture project
The Venezuelan Socialist Institute of Fishing and Aquaculture (INSOPESCA) and Cuban Food Industry Business Group (GEIA) will embark on a project for better use of spaces with potential for aquaculture and fishing in Venezuela.
In a visit to this capital, GEIA Vice President Nelson Arias exchanged with representatives of that economic area in Venezuelato define aspects related to production increase.
In reference to the policies of food independence that strengthen fishing production and bring proteins to the people, without intermediaries, they constitute an example in favor of sovereignty, he said.
Regarding the aquaculture initiative, GEIA Vice President Nelson Arias said that fish breeding in artificial lakes could be exploited much more that it has been done so far.
He says Cuba will speed up collaboration on its side, with development projects in several states and for that, it will transfer technicians that train the Venezuelan specialists.
