Healtang Biotech Co. Ltd (Healtang Biotech)
is a subsidiary of Shengquan Group based in Jinan City, Shandong Province, that
specializes in the research and development and the production of food
additives. Recently, Healtang Biotech began operation for a xylitol project
with an expected annual output of 15,000 tons. This project will add to
Shengquan Group's current series of biomass product projects and will further
improve the company’s functional sugar industry chain.
Healtang Biotech is one of the important
producers of functional sugar in China. As early as 2009, Healtang Biotech
established Shandong Institute of Sugar Research and cooperated with Jiangnan
University, Shandong University, Sichuan University, and other well-known
universities to carry out research and commercial development of sugar alcohol
products. The company’s leading products, namely D-xylose and L-arabinose, sell
well in China and abroad and are recognized by many corporate customers and
consumers. Healtang Biotech’s new project fully relies on the advantages of the
biomass industry chain of Shengquan Group.
The project is conducted in strict
accordance with GMP standards and relevant specifications. The project adopts a
fully automatic packaging line with high production efficiency, safety, and
hygiene. The project will produce xylitol of three sizes and can perform
customized production according to customer needs, and all of the products meet
export-grade standards.
Xylitol popular as low-calorie
artificial sweetener
As one of the mainstream functional sugar
alcohol products on the market, xylitol has been widely used in food,
pharmaceutical, and other industries due to its excellent characteristics. Xylitol
is used in the production of chewing gum, dairy products, beverages, ice cream
and other popular foods to replace sucrose or other sweeteners. Not only does
xylitol quickly provide sweetness and a cooling sensation, but it also has the
effect of preventing dental cavities. At the same time, since xylitol
metabolism is independent of insulin, it is an ideal sweetener substitute for
diabetics.
