On 7 June, NDRC General Office and NEA Comprehensive Department jointly issued the Notice of Further Promoting Involvement of New Energy Storage in Electricity Market and in Power Dispatching. The document calls for establishment of a market mechanism taking into consideration the participation of energy storage, improvement of power dispatching and management mechanism, full use of energy storage technology, and encourages involvement of new energy storage in national electricity market and better utilisation of energy stored. In the process, market-oriented price strategy must be followed and reasonable profits from energy storage programs guaranteed. All these aim at facilitating healthy development of the energy storage industry.

This month, CCM learned from Nanjing Red Sun that its paraquat export volume in Q1 2022 was much the same as the amount exported in the same period last year. Overall, paraquat export volume from China in Q1 this year is estimated to experience a YoY dip. China's paraquat still has a future in overseas markets, but that will not stop domestic paraquat producers from looking for growth opportunities in paraquat substitute market.

In late May, a video conference on the occurrence trend forecast of diseases and pests on early rice in 2022 was held by the NATESC. It is expected that in general, there will be a relatively heavy occurrence of diseases and pests on early rice, covering an area of 16.67 million ha (250 million mu) in total, more severe than last year.

Inner Mongolia Biok has planned to expand its production capacity of pesticides, which includes insecticides 100 t/a emamectin benzoate TC, 150 t/a lufenuron TC, 150 t/a teflubenzuron TC and 400 t/a chlorantraniliprole TC.

Jiangsu Xinnong, a subsidiary of Zhejiang Xinnong, has finished the construction of 3,000 t/a chlorpyrifos-methyl TC production lines and put them into trial operation as of early June.

In late May, Luodong Biotechnology, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang DongFeng, planned to construct the 1,450 t/a pesticide TC and 3,550 t/a pesticide formulation project, including production lines for 300 t/a thiosen copper TC, 200 t/a azoxystrobin TC etc.

To date, the construction of the 3,000 fosetyl-aluminium TC projects of Shandong Dacheng have been completed. Meanwhile, the 12,000 t/a fosetyl-aluminium TC technology transformation project of Limin Chemical has been completed and put into the trial run in April 2022.

Early June, it is learned that rectifications have been completed in Jiangsu Henglong and in its wholly-owned subsidiary Lianyungang Jindun, both located in Liangyungang Chemical Industrial Park, Jiangsu Province. The two have applied for production resumption, but government review is yet to start. If they can pass the check successfully, their production lines, which have been put to a halt since late April 2018, will restart running.
