Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless (NSSC), the largest stainless producer in Japan announced to remain the September contract prices for stainless cold rolled coils (CRC) unchanged.
In fact, NSSC will reduce its alloy charges for austenitic CRC by ¥5,000/ton in response to lower nickel prices as its operations reduced.
However, it will hike the base prices for the austenitic CRC. Therefore, the prices remained unchanged for September.
NSSC stated that the firm's production has reduced since this August and the output was 20%~30% below the capacity although it has been running at close to full capacity since this April.
Meanwhile, NSSC indicated that the ferritic CRC demand remained firm, supported by the good orders from auto sectors.
