US stainless makers cut alloy surcharge for September

It's reported that the US stainless makers have cut the alloy surcharges for September in response to lower nickel prices.

Ohio-based AK Steel set its alloy surcharges for 304 grade materials at US$0.7331/lb., down by 2.9% from US$0.755/lb. for August.

Allegheny Ludlum, a subsidiary of Allegheny Technologies Incorporated (ATI) cuts the September alloy surcharge for 304 grade materials to US$0.7362/lb. from US$0.7559/lb. for August.

Also, North American Stainless (NAS) reduced its September alloy surcharges for 304 grade materials to US$0.7362/lb. from US$0.7559/lb. for August.

Besides, the Alabama based ThyssenKrupp Stainless USA decreased its alloy surcharges for 304 grade materials to US$0.7362/lb. for September from US$0.7559/lb. for August.
