Reportedly, the nickel spot prices at the London Metal Exchange (LME) on August 2nd, 2012 closed at US$15,300/ton, hitting the lowest level since this year.
The nickel prices in three month delivery at LME rebounded to US$16,160/ton on July 30th, 2012 in the hope that ECB and FRB would announce some effective measures against the crisis in Europe, then dropped again since the next day on the continued uncertainty of European economy and China's weakening economy measures to US$15,250/ton just before the closure on August 2nd.
Figures showed that the nickel prices this year at LME has fallen by as much as US$6,700/ton since it peaked at US$21,950/ton in February 8th, 2012 in the afternoon session.
