China to raise nickel pig iron output in 2011

Mr. Allen Cao, General Manager of Tshingshan Mineral, the mineral procurement arm of Tsingshan Holding Group predicted that China would increase the nickel pig iron production by 25%~50% to reach 250,000 ~ 300,000 tons in 2011 from 200,000 tons in 2010. Reuters reported.

He analyzed that the rise of nickel pig iron production was boosted by the growing usage rate of 78% by Chinese stainless steelmakers.
