According to the data compiled by China's Customs Bureau recently, during the first three months of this year, China's overall coal imports amounted to 32.37 million t, dropping by 12.04 million t year over year. As for the reason, experts said the constant price hiking for the international coal resources was the main reason. As well as known to all, the international coal prices surged significantly since Feb, which had slapped down the enthusiasm for some enterprises to import coal.

On the other hand, China's domestic coal price also had emerged an upward trend and experts predicted this trend would continue owing to the railway overhaul as well as the implementations of the coal resource integration, for instance the most recent power coal price had reached 808yuan/t. Thus in the foreseeable future the price gap between domestic and international coal resources will be narrowed gradually.
