Qinghai will forge a new coking coal base

Recently Qinghai's government has approved a layout to develop the coal resources in Muli. Accordingly Muli coal field is located in Haixi Mongolian-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Qinghai Province with a total coking coal reserve of 3.54 billion t.

With the implementation of the layout, Qinghai will build a new coking coal base with ten millions t yearly capacity including the processes of coal washing, coal carbonization, methanol making and the deep processing of coal tar etc.

Meanwhile it is reported that the layout covers 8 well fields on aggregate with the capacity of 8.1 million t. At the same time the layout also includes 6 exploration areas, which has also shown specific a planning about the protection of flammable ice in the area. All the projects will be commissioned in 2015 and Muli's coal capacity will reach 10 million t.
