China imported nearly 60 million t of iron ore in March

According to the data compiled by China's customs, China's steel product exports rose significantly in March.

In March China's steel product exports totaled 4.91 million t, raising by 2.43 million t month on month and by 47.45% year over year. While China's overall steel product exports came to 10.51 million t for the first three months of this year, up 20.7% year on year. Besides China also imported 70 thousand t of the billet in March and the overall billet imports amounted to 0.19 million t for the first three month of this year, up 19.7% compared to the same period of last year and there were no billet exports in March. While China's coking coal exports came to 0.77 million t in March and 1.2 million t for the first three month of this year, increasing by 0.73 million t and 802.6% respectively year over year.

On the other hand, China's steel product imports amounted to 1.53 million t in March, rising by 0.51 million t month on month and down 6.31% year over year. Meanwhile China's overall steel product imports reached 4.18 million t for the first three months of this year, up 1.6% year over year. In addition China also imported 59.48 million t of the iron ore in March, increasing by 12.64 million t month on month and by 0.8% year over year, meanwhile from January to March China's overall iron ore imports totaled 177.17 million t, up 14.4% year over year.
