MOC: Average steel price in China edges up slightly

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (July 8-14) the average steel price in China rose by 0.1 percent compared to the previous week.

In particular, in the given week prices in China of 50 mm x 50 mm x 5 mm equal angle steel , 3 mm hot rolled steel sheet and 10 mm steel plate increased by 0.3 percent, 0.3 percent and 0.2 percent respectively, all week on week.

In the week ending July 14, average prices of minerals in China were up 0.1 percent compared to the previous week. Furthermore, the average prices of tungsten ore and zinc ore increased by three percent and one percent respectively, while the prices of antimony ore, molybdenum ore and copper ore decreased by one percent, 0.7 percent and 0.2 percent, all compared to the previous week.

Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were down 0.8 percent week on week. The average price of crude oil increased by 0.7 percent, while the average prices of raw coal and metallurgical coke decreased by 1.1 percent and 0.1 percent respectively, all week on week.
