MOC: Average steel price in China down 0.4%

China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has announced that during last week (March 11-17) the average steel price in China decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous week.  In particular, in the given week prices of 12 mm diameter rebar and 6.5 mm diameter high-speed wire rod both decreased by 0.5 percent week on week.  

In the week ending March 17, average prices of minerals in China witnessed a decrease of 0.9 percent week on week. Furthermore, the average prices of iron ore, zinc ore and copper ore declined by 0.9 percent, 1.5 percent and 0.2 percent respectively, while the price of tungsten ore increased by 0.4 percent, all compared to the previous week.  

Meanwhile, in the given week, average prices of energy in China were down 0.6 percent. The average prices of coke, crude oil and raw coal decreased by 1.6 percent, 1.4 percent and 0.3 percent respectively, all on week-on-week basis.
