Japan’s HR stainless steel production down slightly in October

According to the statistics from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan's output of hot rolled (HR) stainless steel products totaled 252,319 tons in this October, down by 1% from a month ago but rising by 4.1% year on year.

Among them, 121,430 tons were chrome-based stainless steel products; 128,323 tons were nickel-based stainless steel products.

Meanwhile, the stainless steel product stocks owned by the Japanese stainless steel producers totaled 130,973 tons at the end of October, rising by 6.2% from a month ago.
