US DOC starts AD investigation on Japanese nickel-plated flats

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced to begin an antidumping duty (AD) investigation on imports of diffusion-annealed, nickel-plated flat-rolled steel products from Japan, in response to the petition submitted by Ohio-based Thomas Steel Strip Corporation.

Meanwhile, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) planned to make its preliminary inquiry determination on or before May 13rd, 2013.

The US DOC will make its preliminary determination in September, 2013 if the ITC determined that the imports from Japan cause material injury to local industry.

Besides, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) of the products involved in this case include 7212.50.0000, 7210.90.6000, 7210.70.6090, 7212.40.1000, 7212.40.5000, 7219.90.0020, 7219.90.0025, 7219.90.0060, 7219.90.0080, 7220.90.0010, 7220.90.0015, 7225.99.0090, or 7226.99.0180.
