Vice Minister Niu Dun attends CFSE 2014

Vice Minister Niu Dun urged China's fishery modernization at China Fisheries & Seafood Expo 2014 (CFSE 2014) on November 5, 2014 in Qingdao.

 

He stressed the importance of tappingthe markets and resources both at home and abroad, and pointed out that modern management and practices and ecosystem-based concepts should be introduced to boost sustainable fishery.

 

Mr. Niu talked with some foreign ambassadors, fisheries officials and representatives from national pavilions and noted that as a major fishery producer and trader, China has maintained steady growth in import and export of aquatic products. Fishery development in China contributed to not only income growth of fishermen and fish farmers, but also world fishery development.

 

While visiting the site for overseas exhibitors, Mr. Niu said China welcomes and encourages foreign fishery enterprises to bring quality aquatic-products into Chinese market, and develop in-depth cooperation with Chinese enterprises, jointly promoting a sustainable global market for aquaticproducts. At the domestic pavillion, Niu urged fishery enterprises to enhance product quality and brand-building, and adopt modern management practices in a bid to build a stronger fishery industry in China.

 

The Expo offers an importantplatformfor international fisheries cooperation & exchange and valuablebusiness opportunities.Held annually with alternating locations in the cities of Dalian and Qingdao, CFSE is the largest business-oriented fish and seafood show in Asia and the second of its kind in the world. CFSE 2014 was held at the Qingdao Convention and Exhibition Center, covering an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters. More than 1,200 exhibitors from 43 countries and regions and over 20,000 buyers and professional visitors from over 80 countries participated in the Expo.
