Belarus' Q1 2012 mineral fertiliser output down 9.3%
In January-March 2012, Belarus' output of all mineral fertilisers dropped 9.3% to 1.547 million tonnes, a representative of Belarus' Statistics Committee told reporters.
The output of potash fertilisers decreased 12.1% on the year in January-March to 1.269 million tonnes, of nitrogen fertilisers went up 4.3% to 216,100 tonnes, and the production of phosphate fertilisers went up 13.5% to 61,400 tonnes in the period.
Chemical fibre and filament production grew 7% to 61,900 tonnes.
Combined output of Belarus' chemical and petrochemical industry went up 29.8% on the year in January-March 2012 to BYR18.75 trillion (US$2.3 billion).
Inventories of chemical and petrochemical companies were at 30.9% of the average monthly output, or BYR1.42 trillion (US$172.5 million).
