China eyes mineral fertlisers complex in Kyrgyzstan
Agriculture Minister Askarbek Janybekov and representatives China National Corporation for Overseas Economic Cooperation are in talks on funding the manufacture of the mineral fertilisers facility in Tash-Kumyr.
The officials are planning a complex with the capacity of 310,000 tonnes of fertilisers per annum.
The delegation of China will explore other areas of cooperation during two-day visit to Kyrgyzstan. "The National Corporation has US$3 billion on its account. Soft loans for agricultural sector in Kyrgyzstan may be considered upon discussion of loan terms," representatives of the National Corporation said.
Agriculture Minister Janybekov said construction of this plant will help to increase profitability of agricultural production.
"After construction of this plant residents of Osh, Jalal-Abad regions will be supplied with natural gas. The country needs 250,000 tonnes of nitrogen-based fertilisers. The plant will boost agrarian economies of both countries," the Minister said.
The Chinese delegation plans to discuss the location of the plant and areas of cooperation with specialists of the Agriculture Ministry. The cooperation agreements are due to be signed upon discussions, reported Tazabek.
