Vietnam's 2012 Q1 fertiliser production, import down
Vietnam's 2012 first quarter fertiliser production and import was stagnant particularly the production output of urea that reached 262,300 tonnes, down 2.5% from the same period last year due to calm market demand, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) said.
Fertiliser products of Vietnam National Chemical Industry Group (Vinachem) such as NPK reached about 332,100 tonnes, falling 28.7%, phosphate output reached 396,400 tonnes, up 0.9%, DAP at 74,100 tonnes, up 60.3% on year.
In the first three months of 2012, fertiliser import also declined by 13.3% on year, of which, import for urea saw a decline of 64.7% thanks to Ca Mau fertiliser plant officially turned out first products to the market in the end of January 2012.
