Russia's February fertiliser output down 6.5%
The federal statistics service, Rosstat, said in a report that Russia's mineral and chemical fertilisers output shrank 6.5% in February on year, to 1.38 million tonnes, and 6% over the month.
Fertiliser production declined 9.7% over the first two months of this year compared with the respective period in 2011.
The output of potash fertilisers fell 13.2% in February on year, to 459,000 tonnes, and 22.8% in two months.
The output of nitrogen fertilisers also declined, by 3.3% to 651,000 tonnes in February, and phosphate fertilisers, by 1.3% to 267,000 tonnes. Liquid ammonia production was 1.07 million tonnes (down 7.3%), sulphuric acid 927,000 tonnes (up 5.8%), soda ash 236,000 tonnes (up 12.5%) and ethylene 190,000 (down 5.7%).
