Competition prompts China lysine producers to cut prices

Prices dropped marginally during the week ended December 25.

China's lysine market remained weak as producers competed to boost sales before the year ended. In view of stable hog and broiler demands ahead, feed millers and livestock producers continued to stock inventories. Albeit prudently.

Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine lowered to RMB13-13.45/kg.

Most buyers have stocked substantial inventories lately. Lysine prices are expected to stay soft amid flat demand.
