Skretting Australia to invest in clean and renewable technology
Press release
Skretting Australia has received more than AUD86,000 (US$81,696) from the Australian Government's Clean Technology Investment Programme to invest in clean and renewable technologies.
Skretting Australia, one of the leading suppliers of fish feed for Tasmania's aquaculture industry, will be installing insulation and economisers into its fish feed manufacturing facility at Cambridge, Tasmania. It will also install an advanced energy monitoring system, which will allow the site to benchmark its energy use locally, and compare detailed production energy use data across the global network of Skretting facilities.
Federal Member for Franklin, Julie Collins said the grant would help the company reduce its energy bills by AUD195,000 (US$ 185,556) each year, and allow the company to reduce the energy intensity of its operations by 17%.
Skretting Australia's manufacturing manager Stig Stover said, "The energy monitoring programme will help us to make on-going savings beyond this project and help us contribute to our corporate sustainability targets."
