SojaProtein opens non-GMO soy facility in Serbia

   

   

   

SojaProtein has officially opened its new state-of-the-art non-GMO soy protein production facility in Be??ej, Serbia to produce feed for piglets, among other animal feeds.

   

   

SojaProtein, a Serbian soy concentrate specialist, with production capacity for 70,000 Megatonnes, will specialise in non-GMO soy protein concentrates for the EU market. A major part will be available for animal feed applications, the rest for the pharmaceutical, infant and meat processing industries.

   

   

The plant will manufacture specialised soy concentrates (SPC) for the animal feed industry will also be distributed by Barentz Agri Nutrition Division. The SojaProtein soy concentrates are low in ANFs and soluble carbohydrates yet rich in lysine with excellent digestibility. This makes them particularly suitable for inclusion in young animal feeds such as calf milk replacers, piglet feeds and in aqua culture.

   

   

Pieter van den Berg, managing director Barentz Agri Nutrition Division, said, "We will put a strong focus on direct delivery to customers via our network of pan-European sales and logistical centres. The non-GMO origin and the low iron content make this SPC unique and it will bring great solutions to our customers."

   

   

SojaProtein is a member of the Victoria Group which has invested EUR30 million (US$38 million) in the plant as part of its strategy to maintain its leading position in the sector and supply the anticipated growth in the market. The plant is audited by SGS and GMP+ certified.
