India''s poultry feed prices remain unchanged Wednesday (Sep 5) due to a steady trend in soymeal and a range-bound trend in the prices of other feed ingredients.

   

   

Subhash Sharma, Financial Head, Sarvottam Poultry Feed Supply Centre Pvt Ltd, told Business Line that good demand and steady input cost kept feed products unchanged. Feed products have been ruling unchanged since the first week of August and may continue to rule around current levels for the next few days too. Demand for feed products from other states are good and any major alteration in feed prices is unlikely, said Sharma.

   

   

After witnessing a rally last week, soymeal prices have been ruling unchanged since then and quoted at around INR4,200-4,250 (US$75-76) a quintal on Wednesday (Sep 5).

   

   

Corn ruled flat and quoted at INR1,510 (US$27), bajra increased by INR100 (US$1.8) at INR1,300 (US$23), DCP went for INR42 (US$0.75) a kilogramme, while fish oil decreased by INR4 (US$0.07) and went for at INR96 (US$1.72) a litre.

   

   

Broiler concentrates feed quoted at INR2,010 (US$36) for a 50-kilogramme bag while broiler starter mash was at INR1,490 (US$27). Broiler pre-starter concentrate 30% sold at INR1,700 (US$30) for a 30-kilogramme bag, while layer concentrate cost INR1,530 (US$27) for a 50-kilogramme bag. Pre-lay mash was INR1,050 (US$19) while broiler finisher sold at INR1,470 (US$26) for a 50-kilogramme bag.

   

   

Meanwhile, egg recovered marginally on better demand, on Wednesday (Sep 5). Egg price was up by INR0.20 (US$0.004) to INR3.50 (US$0.06). On the other hand, Broiler and chick went down on sluggish demand, Broiler prices decreased by INR10 (US$0.18) quoted at INR70 (US$1.25) a kilogramme, while chick went down by INR3 (US$0.05) and sold at INR12 (US$0.21).
