Competition Authorities approve BOCM Pauls acquisition
On March 29, 2012, the announced acquisition of UK feed group BOCM Pauls by ForFarmers Group from the Netherlands has been authorised by the European and Jersey Competition Authorities.
The workers council had already responded favourably. The transfer of shares will take place on July 11 and from that moment BOCM Pauls is part of the ForFarmers Group.
By purchasing the activities of BOCM Pauls ForFarmers has become the largest feed company in Europe with 8.8 million tonnes of feed, of which 6.5 million tonnes of compound feed and 2.3 million tonnes single products and co-products, 2,500 employees turnover of EUR6.6 billion (US$8 billion).
The operational management of BOCM Pauls after the takeover is in the hands of Iain Gardner, member of the Board of Directors of BOCM Pauls. He will also be part of the Group Management of ForFarmers.
Also, Bill Mayne and James Powell will continue as members of the board with their knowledge and skills of the British enterprise.
