India's first modern fish feed mill nears completion
The first refined fish feed mill of India, destined for Mansabal near Srinagar in the country's north, is almost ready to be operational.
This is according to India's Minister of state for fisheries, Ajaz Ahmed Khan, who inspected the site of the feed mill over the weekend.
The cost of the project is expected to be of INR11 crore (US$1.99 million) with technical collaboration from Holland.
First of its kind in the country, it will be a fully computer operated system with no manual intervention and can even be operated from the source via satellite.
The production capacity of the mill will be one tonne per hour and will ensure minimal feed wastage.
