Nutraferma announces US plant expansion
US-based solid-state fermentation venture Nutraferma is expanding its production facility in North Sioux City, South Dakota, with phase one of construction expected to be completed by this fall.
"We are very pleased with the success customers have had with our products," said Nutraferma president Eric Lohry. "This expansion will not only supply the growing demand for our high-quality protein, but will also enable us to manufacture several new products."
Nutraferma is a joint venture between Genebiotech, a Seoul-based South Korean biotechnology firm, and US feed-ingredient company Nutra-Flo Protein and Biotech Products.
In addition to its flagship product PepSoyGen, Nutraferma manufactures a direct-fed microbial, Natufermen, and will be introducing other new products in the third quarter of this year.
