DSM and Tatenergo open feed premix facility in Tatarstan, Russia

Netherlands-based DSM Nutritional Products and Tatenergo JSC (Republic of Tatarstan) have opened the first premix plant in Russia under its newly created affiliate DSM Nutritional Products Rus.
Located in Naberezhnye Chelny, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation, the facility is the first joint venture between the two companies, and was officially opened in a ceremony attended by Elena Skrynnik, Federal Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, and officials from DSM and Tatenergo.
The plant will produce premixes for the animal nutrition and health sector. A large percentage of the raw materials for the plant is sourced directly from DSM manufacturing sites.
The premix plant will provide the basis for developing a state-of-the-art agribusiness in Tatarstan that will make a major contribution to the animal nutrition and health sector of the entire Russian Federation, said Ilshat Fardiev, CEO of Tatenergo, at the opening ceremony.
Leendert Staal, CEO and President of DSM Nutritional Products, said the facility fits with DSM''s corporate strategy of operating in high-growth economies and through solid partnership, and that it was "pivotal in the plans of DSM Nutritional Products for growth within the Russian Federation".
