Japan's compound feed output slides 3% on-year
The total compound feed production of Japan decreased by 3% in January to 1.886 million tonnes against last year, after having risen on-year for the last two months, Agriculture Ministry data showed.
In December, total output of compound feed for animals had risen 1.4% from a year earlier to 2.359 million tonnes.
Japan is the world's biggest importer of corn, the main ingredient in animal feed in Japan. The US is its main supplier of corn for feed use. Japanese corn production is negligible.
