New Malaysian dairy feed product now in Nilphamari, Bangladesh
Palm Kernel Expeller (PKE), a new dairy feed product imported from Malaysia, is now available in the shops of Nilphamari, a district in Northern Bangladesh.
Palm kernel is a by-product of the crushing of physical expelling of oil from the kernel of the fruit of the palm tree, according to the Malaysia Palm Oil Council.
Bhobesh Chandra Roy, a shop owner of Nilphamari, said palm kernel expeller is useful both for increasing milk-yielding of cows and also for the commercial fattening of the cattle.
"Fattening of the cattle is popular in the villages of the district as it is very profitable," he said. PKE contains all ingredients of rich food for the cattle and it is gradually becoming popular among cattle farm owners of the district.
