Nutreco subsidiary to build feed plant in Russia
Global animal nutrition company Nutreco International will join the southwest Russian Voronezh region in building a new RUB500 million (US$17 million) plant.
A press-release from Governor Alexei Gordeyev's office, confirmed that he and the manager of Nutreco's local subsidiary Techkorm, CEO Frank van den Brink had reached agreement on a partnership, which will see the plant constructed in three stages.
The first section is expected to produce 50,000 tonnes a year with an investment of RUB350 million (US$12 million). The second will produce milk substitutes, with the third for starter feed production.
Governor Gordeyev said that design development was already in progress and that plant production would begin this year.
Techkorm has operated on the Russian market for more than 10 years. In February 2007, Nutreco's Trouw Nutrition International merged its animal nutrition business in Russia with its Russian distributor, ZAO Hifeed bv, into the new company Techkorm.
