VICTAM Asia 2010: Moving forward with synergy
An eFeedLink Exclusive
Victam International organises its eighth edition in Thailand and is aiming to create a well-rounded industry gathering. The event, slated on March 3-5, 2010, will be open to all industry visitors, most of which are expected to come from South and Southeast Asia.
VICTAM Asia 2010 actually features three shows in one- the FIAAP Asia (Feed Ingredients & Additives Asia Pacific), VICTAM Asia and GRAPAS Asia. All three of these trade shows and their supporting conferences will be held at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand next year.
"The three shows form a partnership in synergy" says Henk van der Bunt in the International Press Conference of the event on November 3, 2009. FIAAP Asia showcases ingredients and additives that are used in the formulation and manufacturing of feeds for animals, aquaculture and pets. VICTAM Asia, the longest running show in Asia, is primarily an exhibition for equipment, systems and technology that are used to process feeds also for animals, aquaculture and pets. GRAPAS Asia will showcase processing and storage solutions of grains. It covers a number of different industry sectors mainly involved in food production.
Henk explained the synergy: "Visitors of FIAAP can expect to meet suppliers of feed ingredients and additives along with equipment showcases used to process, store and transport safely and cost effectively feeds for animals. VICTAM and GRAPAS visitors have similarities too. In fact, the feed industry grew out of the flour milling industry - the waste from the flour mills was fed to animals. There is even a synergy between GRAPAS and FIAAP, the manufacturers of ingredients for feed often produce specialised ingredients for human food."
Besides the three shows, biomass is a stand-alone sector within the show. This section exhibits machineries that use organic waste, crops and other suitable resources to produce biomass pellets for power plants.
Further, the event also features conferences and workshops, organised and supported by independent agencies, government bodies and associations in Thailand.
Victam International is expecting more than 7,000 visitors from all over the world in the coming edition. The event in 2008 drew a crowd of more than 6,000. Companies such as Van Aarsen, Feed Management Systems and WYES Machineries will be showcasing their new innovations during the coming event.
