Land O' Lakes recalls low-protein poultry feed
St. Paul, Minnesota-based Land O'Lakes Purina Feed LLC has initiated a limited voluntary recall of a single lot of a Country Acres poultry feed in 50 pound sacks due to the feed's low protein level.
The feed contains lower than formulated protein level, which could adversely affect bird growth and development, and even cause death in extreme cases, said the company.
The recall was initiated after an investigation discovered there was a manufacturing error in one lot.
The product was manufactured in Louisiana, and was distributed to dealers in - Louisiana, southern Mississippi, southern Arkansas and eastern Texas.
In April this year, the company had also recalled its Country Acres poultry feed in 50 pound sacks due to higher-than-acceptable levels of salt.
