De Heus acquires Vietnamese feed companies
De Heus Feeds in the Netherlands has acquired two Vietnamese feed firms as part of its growth strategy.
Activities of the two firms- Indochine Feeds and PG Richfarm- will be integrated and will produce under the new name of De Heus Vietnam LLC.
Indochine Feeds is located 60 kilometres north of Ho Chi Minh City while PG Richfarm is located in Haiphong. The two companies have an annual feed production of 120,000 tonnes.
De Heus Vietnam LLC will focus on compound feed and premixes for pigs, broilers and ducks.
The acquisitions fit in De Heus' strategy to grow in the international feed market. In 2008, De Heus produced a total of 2.9 million tonnes of feed in its 23 locations worldwide, of which 11 are in the Netherlands.
