Pakistan closes feed mills for health issues
Pakistan has shut down the Capital Feed Mill and HB Feed Mill due to violation of health laws.
Both companies produce feed mainly for the poultry industry, and use animal byproducts in their productions. However, the companies were accused of causing unnecessary stench and waste material in their production.
The companies were warned several times since 2003 but had not acted on the warnings.
The closure may lead to a shortage of poultry feed for farmers, and processing plants would have to find alternative outlets for waste material.
