Lysine producers hold prices despite flat demand in China
Lysine prices stayed flat during the week ending May 5.
Lysine producers held prices firm amid low inventory pressure.
However, the market lacked momentum as feed millers withheld buying in anticipation of flat feed demand during early May due to diminished animal population.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine remained in the range of RMB8.60-8.90/kg.
High output costs, the result of strong corn prices, will underpin lysine prices while producers limit output.
RMB1=US$0.1614 (May 6)
