ICAMA holds a rap session on Asomate, Monzet Registration

In accordance with the Minutes of the 10th Session of the Eighth National Review Committee Meeting of Pesticide Registration, ICAMA holds a rap session on Asomate and Monzet Registration on July 29th, 2013, as a preparation activity for canceling the registration of Asomate and Monzet.

Introduction on the registration, manufacturing, marketing and use of Asomate and Monzet was presented at the meeting. Staff from Division of Re-evaluation of Registered Pesticides of ICAMA also briefed on the risks of using such products, national policies in pesticide industry development, options for substitutes, etc. Representatives of manufacturing enterprises proposed comments and suggestions on control measures over Asomate and Monzet.

It was agreed that there are potential risks to agricultural product safety and the eco-environment by using Asomate and Monzet. Therefore, since China's pesticide industry has been paying more and more attention on food-safety and the environment, it is inevitable to finally ban the use of such products. All parties reached a consensus to cancel the registration of Asomate and Monzet.

The meeting was chaired by Zong Fulin, Division Director of Re-evaluation of Registered Pesticides of ICAMA. Gu Baogen, DDG of ICAMA and Fu Huiwen, DDG of Tianjin Bureau of Agriculture, attended and addressed the meeting.

Nearly 60 participants attended the meeting, representing manufacturing enterprises from Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong and Shanxi provinces, as well as research institutes and provincial ICAs. (Source: Division of Re-evaluation of Registered Pesticides, ICAMA )
