A scheduling meeting on pesticide management was held in Qingdao on Nov. 7. The meeting focused on two policies, one is to ensure registration of pesticide marketing entities and the other is to set up designated stores for marketing high-toxic pesticides, and was attended by all the staff of Qingdao Municipal Law Enforcement Brigade and heads of agricultural law enforcement authorities at the district or county level.
Gu Zhengqi, Chief of Qiangdao Agricultural Law Enforcement Brigade, pointed out in his speech that the two policies
in question are effective measures in safeguarding the quality and safety of agricultural products. Efforts should be made to fully implement the policies, ensure them be extended to the every corner of the City, and guarantee that pesticide products are controllable and traceable.
Liu Sicheng, Deputy Chief of the Brigade, made thorough arrangements on the implementation of the two policies and following inspection work. He also noticed the insufficient preparations for the implementation in Qingdao, and urged all participants to take effective measures in improving the registration rate and ensuring full coverage through making up the deficiencies and learning from past experience.
At the meeting, attendants also exchanged their practices in the implementation of the two policies.
